Bio
Recruited from the Bunyip Football Club in Gippsland, Barry Toy was a light-framed utility who played a brief role in Hawthorn's squad during the formative years of the John Kennedy Sr era. Standing 175cm, Toy broke into the senior side late in the 1959 season, managing three appearances and kicking his solitary career goal during his debut year. He added a further six games in 1960, often operating as a fringe player on the flanks, but struggled to cement a permanent spot in a lineup that was rapidly developing into a powerhouse. His time at Glenferrie Oval concluded just one season prior to the club's historic 1961 premiership, leaving Toy as one of the transitional figures who provided depth just before the Hawks' golden age began.
