While his goal-kicking output remained modest, his capacity to force turnovers and lay punishing tackles defined him as one of the premier pressure forwards in the league. This selfless, high-intensity approach proved essential to Craig McRae's game plan, culminating in McCreery's role as a Premiership player in 2023. Now an experienced senior regular closing in on the 100-game milestone, he continues to be valued less for his own scoreboard impact and more for the panic he creates in opposition defences.
