Bio
A product of the Melbourne development pathway, Ben Crameri was a prolific key forward who found his career stifled by the immense depth of the Demons' golden era. He proved he was a cut above reserves standard by booting eight goals in the 1956 seconds Grand Final, yet he could not displace the established stars in Norm Smith's premiership-winning attack. After managing just three senior appearances without a goal, he departed the VFL to find regular football in the VFA, enjoying a successful stint with Moorabbin before becoming captain-coach of Northcote.
