Bio
Recruited from the NSW/ACT Rams via Wagga Wagga, Ben Fixter joined the Sydney Swans as a second-round selection in the 1999 National Draft. A hard-nosed small defender capable of performing disciplined shut-down roles, he established himself as a reliable contributor during the early 2000s, notably playing a key role in the Swans' 2003 finals campaign. However, after finding himself on the periphery of the senior side during the club's 2005 premiership season, Fixter was traded to the Brisbane Lions in search of greater on-field opportunities. He spent his final two seasons adding grit to the Lions' defensive unit under Leigh Matthews, primarily operating as a tagger and back pocket before being delisted at the end of 2007.
