Bio
Selected by Port Adelaide with pick 16 in the 2010 National Draft, Ben Jacobs entered the league as a highly rated prospect from the Sandringham Dragons but played just 26 games for the Power before requesting a trade back to Victoria. Joining North Melbourne ahead of the 2013 season, he initially fluctuated between defensive and midfield roles before reinventing himself as one of the competition's most effective run-with players. Jacobs became critical to the Kangaroos' structure, renowned for his disciplined, close-checking ability to completely nullify elite opposition midfielders. However, his career was prematurely derailed by a complex and debilitating battle with concussion and neck-related symptoms, which kept him sidelined for the entirety of the 2019 and 2020 seasons before he was ultimately forced to retire.
