Bio
Recruited from the Calder Cannons with pick 64 in the 1996 National Draft, Ben Kinnear was an athletic key position prospect who spent seven seasons on Collingwood's list without ever fully cementing a senior role. Standing 195cm, he was utilised at both ends of the ground and occasionally in the ruck, possessing the physical tools of a modern utility but often struggling with consistency and disposal at the elite level. His time at the club coincided with the Magpies' rise from the bottom of the ladder to premiership contention under Mick Malthouse, though Kinnear remained on the fringe of selection for much of his tenure. His most notable appearance came in the 2003 Grand Final when he was recalled to replace the suspended Anthony Rocca, playing in the heavy defeat to the Brisbane Lions before being delisted at the end of the 2004 season.
