Bio
Recruited from West Adelaide with pick 48 in the 1994 National Draft, Ben Marsh holds a unique distinction as a premiership player who won a flag in just his second AFL game. A tall ruckman capable of resting forward, Marsh spent several seasons developing on the Crows' list before receiving a surprise call-up for the 1998 Preliminary Final, subsequently holding his spot for the Grand Final victory over North Melbourne. Despite this extraordinary beginning, he found it difficult to command a regular senior berth against stiff competition from established ruckmen like Shaun Rehn and Matthew Clarke, often operating as a backup option during his time at West Lakes. After being delisted by Adelaide following the 2003 season, he was thrown a lifeline by Richmond in the pre-season draft, but managed only seven appearances for the Tigers in 2004 before his AFL career concluded.
