Bio
Recruited from Norwood in the SANFL, Ben Wilson arrived at Collingwood with high expectations after being taken with the ninth overall selection in the 1994 National Draft. A tall utility capable of playing key posts in defence or attack, he spent his first season developing in the reserves before making his debut in 1996, though he managed just two senior appearances for the Magpies. Seeking greater opportunities, Wilson was traded to Sydney for the 1997 season, but he struggled to break into a settled Swans lineup coming off a Grand Final appearance. He added only four games to his career tally in red and white before being delisted at the end of 1998, eventually returning to South Australia to continue his football at the state league level.
