Stats
Bio
Beresford "Beres" Reilly was a journeyman utility who played for three clubs in four years, struggling to cement a regular spot in the VFL. A former Victorian schoolboy representative, he initially trained with Footscray but couldn't break into their senior lineup, eventually making his debut with North Melbourne where he played as a rover and winger. His move to Melbourne in 1937 was unusual; he was plucked from the seconds and debuted without ever training with the main group, showing promise early before fading. After a brief stint at St Kilda in 1938, his top-level football career ended, and he tragically lost his life a few years later while serving as an RAAF Pilot Officer over Crete during World War II.
