Bio
Hailing from Rand in the New South Wales Riverina, Bernie Hore arrived at Geelong after a recruiting controversy where he initially committed to Richmond, only for the Cats to secure his clearance with the promise of immediate employment. A strong-marking back pocket who could also deputise in the ruck, he was renowned for his reliability and vigorous approach to the contest. Hore etched his name into club history during the 1937 Premiership win against Collingwood, gathering 21 kicks in a dominant defensive performance that was instrumental in stifling the Magpie forwards. He departed the VFL at the end of 1940 to join Coburg, with his sporting career later curtailed by service in the Second World War.
