Bio
Recruited from Perth in the WAFL, Bill Armstrong arrived at Princes Park in 1958 as a highly rated rover looking to make his mark in the VFL. Despite his talent, he struggled to break into a strong Carlton midfield rotation, managing just two senior appearances across two seasons before returning to his home state. While his time in Victoria was brief, Armstrong resumed a successful playing career with the Demons in the WAFL and later established himself as a significant figure in Western Australian football, becoming a prominent media commentator and administrator.
