Bio
A wartime recruit born in the Otways town of Forrest, Bill Bartlett was plucked from local side Geelong West to assist a Pivotonian outfit struggling with player shortages during the onset of the Second World War. Making his debut in the middle of the 1941 season, he donned the hoops for four consecutive matches as the club navigated the logistical and personnel challenges of the era. His brief VFL tenure was effectively ended by his commitment to the war effort; Bartlett served in the Australian Army before transferring to the Royal Australian Air Force, eventually returning to live in Geelong West where he passed away in 1967.
