Teams

Recruited from North Albury in the Ovens and Murray League, Bill Barton was part of a talented footballing family that saw his brothers Colin and George also reach the VFL with Geelong and Hawthorn respectively. A versatile left-footed centre half-forward, Barton's time at Arden Street was brief, managing just a single senior appearance in both the 1955 and 1956 seasons for a return of two career goals. While he couldn't secure a permanent spot in the North Melbourne lineup, he returned to regional football to forge a massive career in the bush, eventually playing 484 senior matches and coaching five premiership sides across the Hume, Farrer, and O&M leagues to earn induction into the NSW Australian Football Hall of Fame.
