Bio
A local product born in Fitzroy and recruited from nearby Ivanhoe, Bill Blacklock earned a brief opportunity with the Maroons during the 1907 VFL season. He was thrown into the fray immediately, making his debut in a Round 1 battle against fierce rivals Collingwood at Victoria Park. Blacklock found it difficult to lock down a permanent spot in the starting 18, spending a significant portion of the mid-season out of the side before earning a recall for the latter rounds. He ultimately managed six senior appearances and booted a solitary goal, with his only career victory coming in a tight two-point thriller against St Kilda at the Brunswick Street Oval.
