Bio
Recruited to North Melbourne ahead of the 1951 season, Bill Bourke was a utility player who briefly broke into the senior lineup as a 24-year-old. He made his VFL debut in Round 3 against Footscray at the Western Oval, retaining his spot for a win against South Melbourne the following week, but found it difficult to cement a permanent role in the side. Bourke drifted in and out of the selection frame throughout the year, earning a recall for a late-season victory over Hawthorn before making his final appearance in Round 17 against Geelong. Standing 179cm, he played five senior games without registering a goal during his solitary season at Arden Street before departing the league.
