Bio
Recruited from the Huntly Football Club in the Bendigo region, Bill Campbell came to North Melbourne with a premiership pedigree from the Neilborough District Football Association. He grew up in Whipstick Gully and broke into the North lineup late in the 1929 season, debuting in a defeat to Geelong at Corio Oval. Campbell managed just two senior appearances in a year where the club struggled significantly, playing his final game against Collingwood at Victoria Park five weeks later. While his on-field career was fleeting, Campbell secured a unique place in football history through his remarkable longevity; he passed away in 2007 at the age of 102, becoming just the fourth former VFL player to reach the century milestone.
