Bio
Recruited from Hampton Juniors in the local Bayside area, Bill Coady was a tall but lightly-built winger who became a regular fixture in the St Kilda lineup during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Standing 185cm, he offered a significant height advantage on the flank for the era but remained agile enough to compete effectively in the midfield battle. He played 70 senior games for the Saints, featuring prominently during the club’s developmental years under coach Allan Jeans, but departed the VFL at just 24 years of age. Coady subsequently moved to country football to pursue leadership opportunities, serving as captain-coach for Tatura in the Goulburn Valley, which ultimately saw him miss out on St Kilda's premiership breakthrough a few years later.
