Bio
Recruited from Warrnambool, Bill Davern joined Geelong after a stint with West Perth in the WAFL, bringing valuable interstate experience to the Pivotonians' list. He was given his opportunity at VFL level during the 1908 season and quickly proved capable of hitting the scoreboard, booting two goals across his three senior appearances. Despite this respectable strike rate as a forward option, Davern was unable to cement a permanent spot in the side or extend his career beyond that solitary year. His time in the navy blue hoops ultimately served as a brief cameo, leaving him as a minor footnote in the club's early 20th-century history.
