Bio
Recruited from Wesley College, Bill Dinsmore was a goal-kicking forward who showed early promise at Fitzroy before stepping away from VFL football for four seasons. He resurfaced with Essendon in 1914 and immediately proved he could still impact the scoreboard, finishing as the club's third-highest goalkicker and booting a career-best five majors against South Melbourne. His time at the top level concluded in unusual fashion during the 1915 season; after playing the opening round for the Same Olds, he was cleared to St Kilda for a solitary match, a final transfer that brought his career tally to 33 games before his retirement.
