Stats
Bio
Arriving at Essendon as a mature-age recruit from VFA heavyweights Port Melbourne, Bill Eastmure was a tall utility who found opportunities scarce at VFL level. Standing 187cm—a significant height for the era—he made his debut for the Bombers in 1939 aged 25, but was dropped after a single appearance and drifted out of the league. He resurfaced four years later during the war-affected 1943 season, crossing to South Melbourne where the depletion of playing lists offered a second chance. Eastmure added four games and two goals to his tally with the Swans, playing as a follower and forward before concluding his brief two-club career.
