Stats
Bio
Recruited from Eaglehawk in the Bendigo Football League, Bill "Mo" Evely joined Richmond during a difficult transitional period for the club in the mid-1950s. Standing 182cm, he was a versatile utility capable of playing as a marking forward or filling gaps further up the ground, making his senior debut in Round 3, 1956 against Collingwood. Despite possessing the natural athletic ability to compete at the level, he found it difficult to cement a regular spot in the senior lineup, managing sporadic appearances across the 1956 and 1958 seasons with a year's absence from the seniors in between. He finished his brief VFL career with 11 games and five goals before returning to country Victoria, where he established a lasting legacy as a premier local sportsman and future Hall of Fame inductee in Bendigo district cricket.
