Bio
Recruited from the Ballarat Football Club, Bill Finlayson arrived at Richmond with a reputation as a mobile player who could deliver the ball with precision. He was given his opportunity in the middle of the 1926 season, debuting in a victory over St Kilda at the Junction Oval. Described by contemporary observers as a footballer who moved well and was a fine kick to position, he retained his place for a second match against Geelong but was unable to consolidate a spot in the senior lineup. Finlayson's VFL career was limited to just those two appearances before he returned to the country to continue his football with Ballarat.
