Bio
Recruited from Williamstown in the VFA, Bill Flynn was a forward who made a promising start to his League career before finding greater success in country football. He burst onto the scene with Carlton in 1930, booting three goals on debut against North Melbourne at Princes Park, but it would prove to be his solitary appearance for the Blues. After spending the 1931 season out of the senior ranks, Flynn surfaced at South Melbourne in 1932, where he managed just two more games without adding to his goal tally. Unable to cement a regular spot in the VFL, he later moved to the Gippsland region and became a star for Bairnsdale, famously tying for the Trood Award as the league's best and fairest player in 1936.
