Bio
A product of the Victorian Goldfields who cut his teeth in the VFA with Prahran, Bill Franklin was handed a trial by fire for his VFL debut in the opening round of 1908 against reigning premier Carlton. The forward made a promising start to his tenure at the Brunswick Street Oval, booting four goals across his first few appearances, but he found himself squeezed out of a competitive Maroons lineup that was bound for the finals. His senior career was ultimately restricted to just five games in that solitary season, and he eventually left the metropolitan league to settle in the Wimmera region, living out his later years in Horsham.
