Recruited from Hawthorn Districts, Bill Glynn was a towering follower and forward who teased Collingwood fans with glimpses of genuine dominance during his brief stint at Victoria Park. Standing 185cm and boasting a muscular frame comparable to the era's toughest enforcers, Glynn possessed a strong overhead mark and impressive endurance. He looked set to become a regular fixture after a breakout performance in the opening round of 1923, where he booted three goals against South Melbourne, earning praise from the press for his hands despite some erratic kicking. However, chronic knee issues rapidly derailed his progress, forcing him out of the side just as he was establishing himself. He was eventually cleared to Hawthorn in the VFA mid-season before returning to Victoria Park in 1924 to captain the reserves, leaving behind a legacy of unfulfilled potential due to injury.
