Bio
Recruited from Prahran District, Bill Hannan joined St Kilda in 1918 as the club returned to the VFL competition following a recess during the First World War. The older brother of future Melbourne and Footscray footballer Peter Hannan, Bill operated as a defender in a struggling Saints lineup, failing to register a goal across his career. He featured consistently during the immediate post-war years but missed the entirety of the 1920 season, a difficult year in which the club claimed the wooden spoon. Hannan returned to the Junction Oval for a final string of appearances in 1921, concluding his VFL tenure with 29 games to his name.
