Teams

Born on Christmas Day, Bill Homan was a fleet-footed forward who graduated from the Collingwood Juniors to make his senior debut in 1904. A noted sprinter who competed in the Stawell Gift, Homan utilised his raw pace to serve as a dangerous option near goal, managing a respectable return during his initial two-year stint at Victoria Park. After stepping away from the VFL for the 1906 season, he crossed to Melbourne, where he played regular senior football for another two years as a serviceable attacker. Following 30 games at the top level, he continued his career in the VFA with North Melbourne, leaving behind a record as a speedy, opportunist forward who represented two of the competition's oldest clubs.
