Bio
Recruited from Wangaratta in the Ovens & Murray Football League, Bill Nolan joined South Melbourne in 1952 and was immediately selected for the opening round of the season. Operating primarily as a forward capable of hitting the scoreboard, he played the majority of his senior football during his debut year but found opportunities scarce in subsequent seasons. Unable to secure a regular position in the starting eighteen, Nolan served as a depth player for the Swans, ultimately compiling 19 games and 14 goals over four years before his VFL tenure concluded in 1955.
