Bio
A mature-age recruit from VFA outfit Coburg, Ralston arrived at Melbourne as a 25-year-old follower looking to test himself at the highest level. He broke into the senior side midway through the 1936 season, showing promise in a handful of games before his progress was cruelly halted by a broken foot. The injury effectively ended his brief stint in the VFL; unable to force his way back into the Demons' lineup the following year, he was cleared back to Coburg, where he continued playing until joining the war effort in the 1940s.
