Bio
Recruited from local side Kew, Bill Seedsman was a sturdy follower and forward whose fragmented VFL career was bookended by a significant tenure in the VFA. After managing a solitary senior appearance for Hawthorn in late 1936, he departed the league to play for Preston, where he spent the prime of his footballing life outside the top tier. His return to VFL level came six years later under the unique circumstances of the Second World War; with club lists decimated by military service, Seedsman received a call-up from Collingwood in 1942 to fill a gap in their lineup. He donned the black and white for a single match against Richmond at Punt Road, cementing a curious statistical legacy of two career games played six seasons apart at two different clubs.
