Bill Storer

Recruited from Swan Hill, Bill Storer was a capable medium forward who joined Fitzroy during a notoriously difficult period for the club. Breaking into the senior lineup late in the 1963 season, he showed immediate promise in attack, managing to hit the scoreboard despite the Lions enduring back-to-back wooden spoon campaigns during his tenure. Standing 180cm, Storer operated effectively as a half-forward or pocket, booting a respectable seven goals from his nine VFL appearances in a side that was often starved of inside-50 opportunities. Following his brief stint at the top level, he returned to the Murray region and remained a respected figure in the Swan Hill community until his passing in 2025.
