Bio
Recruited from Old Scotch Collegians in the amateur ranks, Bill Vickers was a diminutive forward and rover with football in his blood—his father having represented Fitzroy during the VFA era. Vickers made an immediate impact at VFL level, booting three goals on debut against Footscray in the opening round of the 1927 season. He added a fourth major against Carlton in Round 3, but his stint at the top level proved fleeting, concluding after just those first three matches of the year.
