Bio
Unable to crack the senior side at Melbourne despite a strong apprenticeship in the Demons' reserves, Bill Waldron crossed to St Kilda in 1956 as part of the squad overhaul under incoming coach Alan Killigrew. Standing 183cm, Waldron was a key defender and full back noted for his ability to play tight on opponents and his booming drop-kick out of the backline. He featured nine times for the Saints over two seasons, occasionally pinching-hitting in the ruck or holding down a defensive post, but could not cement a long-term spot in the side. Following his brief VFL career, he moved to the VFA with Moorabbin and later became a premiership player for Parkdale in the Federal League.
