Stats
Bio
Recruited from Collingwood Juniors, Bill "Johnnie" Walker established himself as a versatile ruckman and forward pocket during Essendon's golden era prior to the First World War. He was a pivotal figure in the club's back-to-back premierships of 1911 and 1912, resting forward to great effect when not contesting the bounce. While he briefly attempted a move to Fitzroy during an interrupted 1914 season, he remained at Essendon and finished his career as the club's leading goalkicker in 1915. His time at the top level was ultimately cut short when the club went into recess for the war years, with Walker choosing not to return when Essendon resumed competition in 1918.
