Bio
Recruited from local club Geelong West, Bill Welsh was a defender who struggled to break into a strong Cats lineup during the late 1920s. He played as a centre half-back, tasked with intercepting opposition entries and manning key forwards, but found senior opportunities scarce, managing just five VFL games across two seasons. Despite his difficulty in securing a regular spot in the ones, Welsh proved his worth at the club level, finishing his tenure as a key member of the 1930 reserves premiership side.
