Bio
Recruited from the New Town Football Club in Tasmania, Bill Williams crossed Bass Strait to try his luck with Fitzroy during the 1927 VFL season. He broke into the senior side for a brief four-game stint but found the step up to Victorian football difficult, failing to impact the scoreboard or hold his place in the eighteen. His career at Brunswick Street was ultimately short-lived, with Williams standing as one of the many interstate hopefuls of the era who managed only a fleeting taste of League football before moving on.
