Teams

Arriving at Punt Road via a circuitous path that included stints with North Adelaide and Sydney club North Shore, Bill Wisdom was a solidly built half-forward hoping to establish himself in the VFL. He finally broke into the Richmond side for the Round 7 clash against Essendon in 1936, but his League career was cruelly extinguished just a week later. During his second match against Fitzroy, Wisdom suffered a severe leg fracture that forced him out of the game and ultimately ended his time at the top level. He eventually returned to South Australia, but his life was tragically cut short in 1940 at the age of 27 following a traffic accident in Adelaide.
