Bio
Recruited from the West Torrens Football Club in South Australia, Billy Briscoe arrived at Richmond in 1915 and played his brief VFL career entirely during the First World War years. Standing just 170cm, he was a compact utility who rotated between the wing and the forward line, managing to break into the senior side for 26 games across four seasons without ever fully securing a permanent position in the starting 18. After making his final appearance for the Tigers in the 1918 semi-final, he transferred to the VFA where he enjoyed extended stints with Brunswick and Port Melbourne. Briscoe later returned to the VFL environment in a different capacity, serving as both a boundary and goal umpire between 1926 and 1929.
