Bio
Originally hailing from Preston CYMS after a brief stint with the Collingwood reserves, Billy Collins was a fast and versatile midfielder who made his mark primarily in the Melbourne seconds. He earned a call-up to the senior side for two consecutive appearances during the 1931 season, debuting in the centre against South Melbourne before playing his second and final game the following week. Although he could not hold his spot in the senior 22, Collins proved a loyal servant to the club's lower grades, playing a key role in the seconds' 1932 premiership victory. He eventually requested a clearance to Horsham in 1933 and later served his country with the RAAF during World War II.
