Bio
Recruited from the local Camden Football Club, Billy Dicks was a diminutive forward who showed immediate potential upon arriving at the Junction Oval. Standing just 173cm, he made a dream start to his VFL career by booting three goals on debut against Hawthorn in the opening round of the 1950 season. Although he maintained an impressive strike rate of exactly one goal per game throughout his brief tenure, Dicks found opportunities limited and struggled to hold a regular spot in the senior lineup over three seasons. He eventually left the league to become a standout performer in the Ovens & Murray Football League, where he won a best and fairest with Corowa and finished runner-up in the Morris Medal before captain-coaching Yarrawonga.
