Bio
Recruited from the Napier Imperials, Billy Kenny donned the red and white for South Melbourne during the VFL's nascent stages in the 1898 season. He managed just two senior appearances for the club as they navigated the league's second year of competition, failing to trouble the scorers during his brief stint at Lake Oval. While his own tenure at the top level was short-lived, Kenny established a family connection to the club that spanned generations. His son, Bill Kenny, would later follow in his footsteps to represent South Melbourne in the post-World War I era, ensuring the family name remained a distinct part of the Swans' early history.
