Stats
Bio
Recruited from the maritime ranks of Port Melbourne, Billy Monagle proved to be a remarkably durable asset for Carlton during the 1899 VFL season. He immediately cemented his place in the starting lineup, achieving the distinction of playing every single match of the club's campaign, including all 14 home-and-away fixtures and the subsequent sectional round games. While he did not impact the scoreboard, his constant selection suggests he filled a reliable, disciplined role within the Blues' defensive structure. Despite being an ever-present figure throughout the year, Monagle's tenure at Princes Park was fleeting; he departed the league after just one season, leaving with the unique legacy of a 100% participation record during his brief time at the top level.
