Bio
Born into a prominent local family, William 'Billy' Pincott arrived at the Pivot via Geelong Grammar, where he had captained the First XVIII. He earned his place in history as a member of Geelong's inaugural VFL side in 1897, featuring regularly as a defensive utility during the league's formative years. Pincott's time at the top level was brief, spanning just two seasons interspersed by a year's absence, and he failed to trouble the scorers in his 17 appearances. While his on-field contribution was modest, he later achieved sporting immortality off the field as 'Pinny,' a legendary rowing coach who mentored generations of oarsmen at both Geelong College and Geelong Grammar.
