Bio
Recruited from Wodonga in the Ovens and Murray Football League, Billy Wells established himself as a wingman for Richmond during the mid-1930s. He made an immediate impact upon his arrival, playing 14 games in his debut 1936 season as the Tigers pushed for finals contention. While he showed initial promise through the midfield, his senior opportunities dwindled the following year, and after adding just nine games in 1937, his brief VFL career at Punt Road came to a close.
