Billy Wigmore

Billy Wigmore is a general defender from the Yarraville Seddon Eagles whose intercepting game put him firmly on the radar in 2026. Coming through the Western Jets in the Coates Talent League, he stamped himself as one of the best aerialists in his draft class. His form peaked with dominant performances at club level, starring as a defensive brick wall. He carried that momentum to the National Championships for Vic Metro, acting as a key pillar in their unbeaten, title-winning run. His shutdown abilities and rebounding drive were rewarded with All-Australian honours in a back pocket.

On the field, Wigmore plays taller than his 188cm frame thanks to his tremendous reading of the play, courage in the air and clean overhead marking. Defensively, he is rarely beaten in one-on-one contests. When rebounding out of defence, he relies on his composure and neat skills by hand and foot to set up his teammates. Scouts praise his consistency and high football IQ, noting he treats every match like an assignment he needs to ace. Invited to the national draft combine, he has steadily risen up draft boards and is widely rated as a top-40 prospect.
