Bio
Recruited from Hawthorn Districts, William "Billy" Wright arrived at Richmond in 1922 as the club was entering a period of significant strength under coach Dan Minogue. He joined a Tigers squad that was consistently challenging for finals, making the task of breaking into the senior eighteen particularly difficult for a new recruit. Consequently, Wright served primarily as a depth player on the fringes of selection, unable to displace the established names in a formidable lineup. His career at the top level was fleeting, comprised of just three appearances across two seasons before his time at Punt Road concluded.
