Bio
Arriving from VFA club Preston, Bismarck Kulpa—born with the formidable moniker Ferdinand Ottoman Bismarck Kulpa—remains a unique curiosity in St Kilda's history books. He broke into the senior side during the 1908 season, a year that saw the league expand to ten teams, but struggled to cement a regular spot in a Saints lineup that finished seventh. Kulpa managed just two appearances in the red, white, and black without troubling the scorers, eventually departing as a fleeting depth player whose distinctive Prussian name proved more memorable than his brief tenure at the Junction Oval.
