Bio
Bob Beaven was a hopeful recruit from the Hawthorn reserves who crossed to Punt Road in 1961 seeking a pathway to senior football. Unable to break into a building Hawks lineup that would go on to win the club's maiden premiership that same year, Beaven found his opportunity with a Richmond side that finished tenth on the ladder. He made five senior appearances in his single season with the Tigers, offering depth as a medium-sized utility (180cm). Despite breaking through for his debut, he could not secure a permanent place in the side and left the VFL at the end of the year, his career standing as a brief cameo during a transitional era for the club.
