Bio
Born in Dunedin, New Zealand, Bob Bryce was a rare international presence in the league's formative years who arrived at Collingwood after a brief stint with South Melbourne. A capable forward who could also rotate through the followers, he is best remembered for his lone hand of resistance in the 1901 Grand Final against Essendon. On a day where the Magpies were soundly beaten at the Lake Oval, Bryce kicked both of his team's goals, providing the only highlights in a low-scoring affair. He managed just one senior appearance the following season, unfortunately missing out on the club's 1902 premiership triumph before departing the league.
