Bio
Bob Chadwick arrived at the Demons with elite football pedigree, entering the club as the son of premiership captain-coach and future MCC President Sir Bert Chadwick. Recruited from Old Melburnians, he was a strongly built follower who spent several years developing in the system, first appearing on the list in 1946 but waiting until 1949 to make his senior debut. Standing 185cm and weighing over 90kg, he provided a physical presence around the ball during his brief two-game stint in the senior side. Although he was unable to secure a long-term spot in the 22, Chadwick played a key role in the club's wider success that year, featuring as a member of the 1949 reserves premiership team. He returned for the 1950 pre-season in an attempt to revive his senior career but did not add to his tally, leaving the reserves flag as the highlight of his time in the Red and Blue.
